This year is an excited year in book releases. There are 4 books that stick out from the rest. Mostly, for myself, is the release of Gwendy’s Button Box, written by Stephen King and Richard Chizmar. This will be released on 30th May 2017. If you want to grab yourself a copy, go over to cemeterydance.com for the U.S or PS Publishing for the U.K.
A little about the book:
The little town of Castle Rock, Maine has witnessed some strange events and unusual visitors over the years, but there is one story that has never been told… until now.
There are three ways up to Castle View from the town of Castle Rock: Route 117, Pleasant Road, and the Suicide Stairs. Every day in the summer of 1974 twelve-year-old Gwendy Peterson has taken the stairs, which are held by strong (if time-rusted) iron bolts and zig-zag up the cliffside.
At the top of the stairs, Gwendy catches her breath and listens to the shouts of the kids on the playground. From a bit farther away comes the chink of an aluminum bat hitting a baseball as the Senior League kids practice for the Labor Day charity game.
One day, a stranger calls to Gwendy: “Hey, girl. Come on over here for a bit. We ought to palaver, you and me.”
On a bench in the shade sits a man in black jeans, a black coat like for a suit, and a white shirt unbuttoned at the top. On his head is a small neat black hat. The time will come when Gwendy has nightmares about that hat…
Journey back to Castle Rock again in this chilling new novella by Stephen King, bestselling author of The Bazaar of Bad Dreams, and Richard Chizmar, award-winning author of A Long December. This book is a Cemetery Dance Publications exclusive with no other trade editions currently planned anywhere in the world!
Another one to look out for is Sleeping Beauties by Stephen King and Owen King. This will be released September 26th 2017.
Something about the book:
In a future so real and near it might be now, something happens when women go to sleep; they become shrouded in a cocoon-like gauze. If they are awakened, if the gauze wrapping their bodies is disturbed or violated, the women become feral and spectacularly violent; and while they sleep they go to another place…
The men of our world are abandoned, left to their increasingly primal devices. One woman, however, the mysterious Evie, is immune to the blessing or curse of the sleeping disease. Is Evie a medical anomaly to be studied? Or is she a demon who must be slain?
Set in a small Appalachian town whose primary employer is a women’s prison, SLEEPING BEAUTIES is a wildly provocative, gloriously absorbing father/son collaboration between Stephen King and Owen King.
The third release is Under a Watchful Eye by Adam Nevill. I’m a real fan of this guy ever since reading Before You Sleep. His latest release is available from amazon now, and in all formats.
What its all about:
Under a Watchful Eye by Adam Nevill is a supernatural thriller from the award-winning writer of The Ritual and Last Days.
Seb Logan is being watched. He just doesn’t know by whom.
When the sudden appearance of a dark figure shatters his idyllic coastal life, he soon realizes that the murky past he thought he’d left behind has far from forgotten him. What’s more unsettling is the strange atmosphere that engulfs him at every sighting, plunging his mind into a terrifying paranoia.
To be a victim without knowing the tormentor. To be despised without knowing the offence caused. To be seen by what nobody else can see. These are the thoughts which plague his every waking moment.
Imprisoned by despair, Seb fears his stalker is not working alone, but rather is involved in a wider conspiracy that threatens everything he has worked for. For there are doors in this world that open into unknown places. Places used by the worst kind of people to achieve their own ends. And once his investigation leads him to stray across the line and into mortal danger, he risks becoming another fatality in a long line of victims . . .
The forth book coming out this year is Dark Places, Evil Faces. This is an anthology containing 24 authors and 25 stories. I am personally excited by this release as it is my own. This has been a massive project with works from Graham Masterton, Ramsey Campbell, Brian Lumley, Richard Chizmar and Jack Ketchum, and many many more…
Foreword is by non other than Shaun Hutson.
All profits raised from the sale of this book will be given to Macmillan Cancer Support. Dark Place will be released at Halloween 2017, and will be available as an ebook from Amazon and from PS Publishing as a paperback.
